Why Was My Contact Skipped?
Understand suppression behavior when DNC rules block outbound delivery. Read the FAQ guide in Hello Alex documentation.
Overview
Contacts are skipped to protect compliance and trust. If a number is on Do Not Call, outbound voice and SMS suppress delivery by design.
How it works
- Suppression checks happen before send, so blocked contacts are excluded from batch and single-send workflows without consuming avoidable effort.
- Skipped counts and related fields provide visibility into what was suppressed, helping teams correct contact data or consent handling.
Important fields
- do_not_call column: Set yes/true in CSV imports to add numbers to the registry.
- doNotCallSkippedCount: Returned on batch launches when numbers were suppressed.
Use cases
- Skipped contact investigation
- Compliance-safe relaunch preparation
Tips
- Good to know: removing a number from DNC should only happen when consent status has been revalidated.
Next step
Review DNC entries for the affected contact and relaunch only after consent handling is confirmed.
